Allison supplies most of the transmissions to the fire service, and even within model series there are major differences. So before you trade in your transmission for some gold leaf, please take the time to know one of the most crucial elements of an apparatus.

Allison 3000 Good for up to 350 hp for the 3000 and 450 hp for the 3200

Allison 4000 Good for up to 600 hp,with lower gear ratios than 3000,and more Torque allowed

Allison 4500 Good for up to 380 hp for 4430, 4440 up to 425hp, 4500 600hp, series delivers lower gear ratios, great for starts and stops, climbing hills, etc.
